Merrick Studer, a law student at University of Oregon, is a 2025 summer intern with Legal Aid Services of Oregon, supported by a grant from the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation. Merrick was a 2023 graduate of the University of Washington, where he received a BS in Biology: Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation as part of an interdisciplinary honors program. While an undergrad he worked as a paleobotany research assistant at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture and, perhaps most notably, as a University of Washington mascot. Merrick hopes to use his experience and skills to help those most adversely affected by the climate crisis.
Merrick’s summer internship comes about as part of his selection as a Multnomah Bar Association fellow. To learn more about the program, click here.
