The grant is available to students in their final year at one of the three Oregon law schools who can demonstrate a commitment to the Foundation’s goals through their personal volunteer or educational experience and who intend to practice law in Oregon.
Annually, recipients are selected to receive a textbook grant in the amount of $2,000 and to be matched with a female judge or attorney mentor for the year.
Women and/or members of other historically disadvantaged groups are especially encouraged to apply. Only applications received during the application period of August 1 through September 15 will be considered.
Grant determination is based on a combination of the following criteria:
- Personal statement: 50%
- Financial need: 35%
- Overall application, including typographical errors, spelling, grammar, and completeness. 15%
