Judge Alarcón has said of mentoring: “I believe that I have a duty to improve the legal community. Being the recipient of generous mentorship, I understand the importance of mentoring others, and being part of continuous change for the better within our legal profession.”
Being a first-generation American, Judge Alarcón understands the importance of cross-cultural communication.
Judge Alarcón is a leader in the bar community and has served on many law-related boards and committees. She is a past president of Oregon Women Lawyers, and is the current president of the Multnomah Bar Association. In 2022 Governor Kate Brown appointed her to the Multnomah County circuit court bench.
