At Oregon Women Lawyers’ March 11, 2016 Roberts-Deiz Awards Dinner, the OWLS Foundation conducted a raffle of a vacation package to the city of Cortona in the beautiful Tuscany region of Italy. Beatrice Grace, a recipient of two of the Foundation’s grants (see her story on this page) was asked to draw the winning ticket out of a bowl. The winner was former OWLS board member Sue Grabe, Director of Public Affairs at the Oregon State Bar. The vacation package that she won includes accommodations for two in an apartment in the heart of the city for one week, concierge services and other travel arrangements in Italy. The concierge will assist Sue to arrange cooking classes, wine tours, museum passes, car rentals and more, — all to make the vacation a truly special, customized event! After winning this prize, Sue stated: “I appreciate the work OWLS and the OWLS Foundation does on behalf of women and minorities in the justice system in Oregon. The success of the organization is based on the energy and enthusiasm of the volunteers, and its success is a tribute to all of you. I have been a long-time supporter of OWLS and will continue to be. Winning the raffle trip is an amazing stroke of good luck!”
The raffle proceeds benefit the Foundation and assist us in our efforts to help women and minorities succeed within the justice system. Thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets!
