Salem Day Out for CourtCare – June 2
The Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation is proud to support this important event to help fund Mid-Valley Courtcare. The Oregon Women Lawyers Mary Leonard Chapter and Willamette Valley American Inn of Court together with our title sponsor Surety Solutions LLC are proud to present Salem Day Out for CourtCare on Saturday, June 2, 2018. This family-friendly event benefiting Mid-Valley CourtCare will be centered in the alleyway between 1859 Cider Company and Salem Summit Co and progress to neighboring businesses. Attendees can sample cider, beer, wine, mocktails, and small bites. The event will feature exciting raffle prizes and auction items. We are also planning arts and crafts venues for the kids. Q&A With Roberts Leadership Conference Grant Recipient Nicole Rose
Jammell Nicole Gamboa Rose is a recipient of the Justice Betty Roberts Leadership Conference Grant. We asked her to share her thoughts about the experience with us. Tell us about yourself: I have been an attorney in Oregon since 2012. My background was in finance; however, I wanted to pursue a career in which I felt I could truly help people who were voiceless or felt voiceless in our society. I had desired to become an attorney since a young age and was encouraged to pursue law school. I graduated from Willamette College of Law and passed the Oregon bar a few months later. I am married to my best friend who I met my first year of law school. We have a beautiful blended family which includes four children-- three girls and a young son. I am a happy and very proud mother of four. I currently work for the Multnomah County Health Department writing complex mental health contracts. Balancing the Scales: A Feature Documentary Film will receive a screening at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at World Trade Building 2 Auditorium. Over a period of 20 years, Atlanta lawyer and producer Sharon Rowen interviewed more than 40 women attorneys spanning five generations. Oregon Women Lawyers and Bodyfelt Mount LLP are proud to bring this event to Portland. Join us at the World Trade Center Building 2 auditorium for a social and networking at beginning at 4:30 pm with the film screening followed by Q&A with Sharon Rowen from 5:15 to 6:45. OWLS Foundation Hosts Another Successful Auction – 2013
As part of the OWLS Roberts-Deiz Dinner, the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation once again hosted its annual auction on March 8, raising twice as much as last year. The success of the auction is attributed to a wonderful Auction Committee and the more than 120 donors who contributed items, including artwork, entertainment tickets, weekend trips, and many baskets of special gifts. This year’s Auction Committee was chaired by Libby Davis and coordinated by Robin Jerke. The live auction, which took place during dinner, generated a lot of laughs and competitive bidding due to the splendid performance of the auctioneer, JillMarie Wiles. 2014 Auction
Immediately prior to the Oregon Women Lawyers Roberts-Deiz Awards Dinner on Friday, March 14, 2014, the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation will host a silent auction. Although the auction will be scaled down from that of previous years, through the generous support of our donors, there will be various ways in which to show your support of the Foundation, while socializing with your friends and colleagues. The auction and dinner will be held at The Nines Hotel. The auction and social will begin at 5:00pm. Tickets to the dinner can be purchased through Oregon Women Lawyers. Foundation Hosts Another Successful Silent Auction
As part of the OWLS Roberts-Deiz Dinner, the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation once again hosted its annual auction on March 19, 2007, raising a record amount of more than $20,000. The great success of the auction is attributed to a wonderful auction committee and the more than 150 donors who contributed items including artwork, entertainment tickets, weekend trips, and many baskets of special gifts. This year’s auction committee was co-chaired by Foundation Board members Libby Davis and Yumi O’Neil. The list of top donors includes Hon. Betty Roberts, Dady Blake, Roscoe C.
